This was my first lantern festival and the expectations that I had going in was Tangled. The scene where Rapunzel and Flynn were on a boat, on a lake with lanterns just the filling sky making you feel like it would be one of the most magical things you can witness. If that is what you’re thinking too, then Rise Festival will not disappoint. Aside from the fact that there is no lake and no boat but I think thats excusable given that you’re in the middle of a desert. Pictures and videos can’t capture just how breathtaking and peaceful it is when you see hundreds of lanterns floating up into the night sky. Or the therapeutic vibe you feel as everyone is reflecting on what to write on their lanterns just as the sun is setting.
